"The Great Gatsby" favorite quote

My two main characters finally meet! and I chose to quote what Nick Carraway said about Jay Gatsby when Gatsby introduced himself to Nick for the first time, I found Nick's words about Gatsby  rather majestic and enchanting.
.
.
.

"He smiled understandingly—much more than understandingly. It was one of those rare smiles with a quality of eternal reassurance in it, that you may come across four or five times in life. It faced—or seemed to face—the whole external world for an instant, and then concentrated on you with an irresistible prejudice in your favor. It understood you just so far as you wanted to be understood, believed in you as you would like to believe in yourself, and assured you that it had precisely the impression of you that, at your best, you hoped to convey"

Th Great Gatsby ... Extensive reading

Upon reading the third chapter of the book, my feelings varied from feeling confused and thrilled to being surprised and feeling the curiosity about our mysterious main character that only a few had ever met and a fewer that seemed to know anything about him, not even his own neighbor Nick, knew him.

In this chapter, Nick got invited to one of his parties, and to his amazement, out of hundreds in the party, he was the only one with an actual invitation from Gatsby himself !

Everyone was making speculations and wild guesses about him in the party, some said that he killed a man while other said he was in the American army..!
